On Monday, January 29th, at 7pm, the Film-Makers’ Cooperative will show four films about “Happenings” in a program aptly titled WHAT’S HAPPENING?. A perfect companion to this program is the 17-film boxset FLUXFILM ANTHOLOGY, which GME distributes to the North American university market as both a DSL file and DVD.

The 3 part BBC series covers Warhol’s glorification and critique of American culture, his changing response to the country’s major historical events and finally as a man obsessed with money and security. In his eary Factory days, Warhol was instrumental in the formation of the Velvet Underground, featuring Lou Reed, John Cale, Nico and others, and who went on to be one of the most influential bands in history.
