D.W. Griffith’s THE MOTHERING HEART with Live Original Score at Simpson College Feb. 8th.

The Mothering Heart is a 1913 American short drama film directed by D. W. Griffith for the Biograph Company starring Lillian Gish, with cinematography by Billy Bitzer. It will be accompanied by the Vivo Chamber Players, faculty members at Simpson College. GME’s Jon Gartenberg had the privilege of working directly with Lillian Gish in the 1970;s and 1980’s when he was a curator in MOMA’s film archive. DVD for this screening provided by GME.
