ROMY SCHNEIDER IN TEST FOOTAGE FOR HENRI-GEORGES CLOUZOT'S UNFINISHED L'ENFER

The Museum of Moving Image is opening its “Fashion in Film Festival” this Friday (April 6) with the North American premiere screening of THE INFERNO UNSEEN (2018), a newly edited assemblage of rushes from Henri-Georges Clouzot’s famous uncompleted film, THE INFERNO (1964).  The current version, edited by Rollo Smalcombe and Markea Uhlirova, departs from Serge Bromberg’s critically acclaimed documentary about the making of Clouzot’s film (2009).  GME distributes Bromberg’s film, entitled HENRI GEORGES CLOUZOT’S INFERNO, in a DVD edition destined for acquisition by academic institutions in North America.   And on Sunday, April 8, co-curator Marketa Uhlirova is giving an illustrated talk entitled “Fashion: The Fabric of Time”, that includes DRESS REHEARSAL AND KAROLA 2 (1981-2) by Charistine Noll Brinkmann; this work is represented on a DVD edition of Brinkmann’s films entitled THE PRIMAL SCENE, which is also made available by GME exclusively for acquisition by universities in the United States and Canada.
